Still Trying To Get Video Over A Cell Phone

from the please-tell-me-why? dept

Okay, here’s one technology I simply don’t understand. People have been working on sending video over cell phones for years – and yet I still can’t find a compelling use for it. Now, the Herring is talking about another company, GPIX, working on their own solution for streaming video over mobile devices. Thankfully, they’re not targeting a consumer market – but I’m still not sure where this would really be useful – and why people would ever pay extra for it. Can someone who understands this better explain? I also like how GPIX is “headquartered” in a shed hidden across the street from a car dealership that is their “official” address.
