Down To The Wire: Last Two Days To Back One Billion Users
from the don't-miss-it dept
Tomorrow is the last day of our Kickstarter campaign for One Billion Users. We’re still beneath the funding threshold, so unless there’s a big closing rush, this campaign won’t reach our goal. Still, if we can get that big closing rush, we’d love your support for the campaign. At the very least, supporting it now will allow us to alert you if we try again with a modified campaign/product in the future.
If you haven’t followed along, One Billion Users is a super fun card game to be played with family and friends. It’s loosely based on the old public domain card game Touring, which was adapted decades later into the much more popular Mille Bornes. However, we made a bunch of updates to improve on Mille Bornes, while simultaneously theming it around social media, allowing us to add things like Influencers and the ability to play as a particular social network (yes, including ExTwitter).

If the campaign doesn’t reach its goal, we’ll take some time before we decide what to do next. We always set a very high bar (one of the highest we’ve seen for a card game) because we believe in using Kickstarter the way it’s supposed to be used: as a way to test a product to see if there’s a market there. And we didn’t want to go to the trouble of producing anything if there didn’t seem to be a market. If it turns out that this campaign doesn’t hit the goal, we’ll go back to the drawing board. We may rethink our approach and try something else. Either way, we’ll have learned something valuable in the process.
In the meantime, though, we’d still be thrilled if enough backers jumped in to support the campaign and help us reach our goal, so please go check it out.

It’s almost impressive how this crowdfunding campaign managed to convince itself that it could hit $20,000 in two days. “One Billion Users”? More like “One Billion Delusions.” If you’re relying on a last-minute scramble to save this sinking ship, maybe it’s time to realize that no amount of influencer-themed card games will mask the fact that this idea just isn’t clicking. Keep in mind, there’s a reason why people aren’t flocking to back it—sometimes the problem isn’t the product, it’s the hubris behind it.
Re:
It got almost $27k in backing as of this comment and most of the card game kickstarters are less than $10k and many failed to get $1k. It’s funny to see you waste your time deriding it. If it fails, nothing bad happens. People just weren’t interested enough. They’ll survive. You, however, will be out an opportunity to gibe. But I suppose you’re used to making up new reasons to be unhinged. On to the next one!

It must be so sad to go through your life with so little hope or optimism.

you’re real weird man

I assume as a gracious loser you’ll come back here to admit that you’re wrong. I’ll be holding my breath!

This failed so hard.
Truly pathetic.
And no, it’s not normal for kickstarters to fail.
Re:
However it is very normal and pathetic for you to be proven wrong.
