a scant eighty dollars worth of hardware, and that is being generous, bundled with some ebooks. Ebooks that they claimed are worth around eight hunded bucks until the convenient markdown to Only cost thirty five bucks?
Re: Re:
Indeed, Amazon has the Pi 2 + Starter kit for $69.99. Who’s paying $200 an ebook??
For shame TechDirt. With these tactics I expect to see a free set of steak knives thrown in. If this is the quality of deals you offer then I don’t expect to be shopping here anytime soon.
Seriously, that markup on ebooks is fucking ridiculous. You’re promoting a scam.
The $80 “full” price listed for the hardware alone is not a bad deal in itself — even without any “discount.” (too bad it’s not sold that way here)
Indeed, StackSocial/StackCommerce would do well to stop treating its customers like idiots all the time, such as claiming their ebooks are worth 10x the normal market value. Would it be so hard for them to be more honest? It would certainly reduce the amount of complaints.
