What Good Is Faster Data When It's Locked Down By An Operator?

Verizon Wireless says it’s finally launched its EV-DO Rev. A network, but only in the state of Florida and a handful of other locations. This comes three months after Sprint launched Rev. A, and it now has it going in 24 major markets. For now, it looks like all Rev. A means for Verizon subscribers is faster access to mobile content it has deemed financially useful, or if you’re on a PC, a limited amount of certain types of data, despite what its marketing materials might say.
