Outgoing Philly CIO Under Ethics Investigation

An anonymous reader writes “You’ve probably heard that Philly CIO Dianah Neff is leaving her job to work for muni wireless consultant Civitium. Now the Mayor’s office has decided to open up an ethics investigation, since Neff granted Civitium its $300k contract last year and she traveled the globe with the company to promote municipal wireless plans – training for her new job with Civitium’s international practice, no doubt. Following yesterday’s story on how equipment manufacturers were the ones who really cleaned up on the Wi-Fi craze, perhaps it’s actually a combination of equipment providers, consultants and city officials looking to build a high profile and land a posh consulting gig. I guess the Mayor’s office is a bit curious as well.”
