Better Batteries For WiFi?

It’s fairly well known that WiFi is something of a battery hog. That’s one of the (many) reasons why there have been too many WiFi-enabled mobile devices. It’s pretty damn difficult to make them last for any reasonable amount of time. The Wi-Fi Alliance is trying to tackle that problem by highlighting products that are better at conserving battery life while using WiFi. Of course, in some ways, that seems a little strange. It’s basically highlighting the fact that most WiFi-based products have terrible battery life. Instead of focusing on labeling, why not spend that energy on more ways to improve battery life on those products?
