Sex.com Conman Arrested And Sent Back To The US
from the gotcha dept
In a footnote to the infamous Sex.com case that finally appeared over in March, Stephen Cohen, the guy that forged documents to get the sex.com domain illegally transferred to him, has been arrested in Mexico and deported back to the US. He’s now sitting in jail in San Diego, a consequence of failing to pay up the $65 million a court awarded the domain’s legitimate owner.

Restitution
I hope they sell his mansion in Mexico and other assets to help pay restitution to the domain’s rightful owner. I also hope that Cohen gets a nice jail sentence. Maybe he’ll get some sex.com in prison.
Psh, so what
He’s already made some money through sueing the registrar for letting him have it in the first place. It’s obvious who’s fault it is. If I skipped out on my taxes by finding a loop-hole in the law, by no means can they make me make up what I didn’t pay.
Re: Psh, so what
Huh? Let’s make this simple.
1. Here is your crook.
2. Here is your crook in jail.
Theft of domain is theft, pure and simple. Bunko is hard to prove, theft is theft. Duhh.
