Suing Is Easy, Innovating Is Hard
from the writing-on-the-wall dept
One of the panels at this week’s Web 2.0 conference in Seattle went over a topic we visit regularly: the failure of entertainment companies to adapt to new technology. They really didn’t cover any new ground, rehashing ideas that are pretty clear to most everybody outside the entertainment industry, but ones that very few inside it seem to get. Former FCC chair Michael Powell summed up the crux of the matter, though, quite succinctly: “Hiring lawyers is easier than innovating.”
