Bahrain Gets Temporary WiFi Licenses
We’ve had other stories in the past of places where WiFi spectrum was not opened by governments, despite plenty of local pressure — and the latest is in Bahrain, where they’ve finally decided to grant “temporary” licenses for using WiFi. However, you still need to get the temporary license, and who knows what the government will do after it completes its research on how to handle spectrum allocation. Either way, it seems like it should be quite a bureaucratic mess, since anyone using WiFi in anyway now needs to apply for a license.
