Europeans Like Idea of Cellular-VoIP Convergence
A study by Motorola (who’s not exactly an unbiased observer) says that more than half of Europeans it surveyed would switch to a mobile operator with a converged cellular-VoIP offering. Consumers are intrigued by the possibility of using a single, familar device that combines the benefits of both traditional mobile service and low-cost VoIP service — they’re not interested in the technology behind it, which means if the carrier’s converged offering doesn’t offer those benefits, they won’t buy it.
