Is iTunes Really More Popular Than Various File Sharing Apps?

from the questions-questions-questions dept

News.com published a report about a study today from NPD Group saying that iTunes is now more popular than many P2P file sharing services. If true, it’s an interesting stat — but there are serious questions about how accurate these numbers are. In fact, even reporters at News.com, who published the report, say the numbers seem funny. If that’s the case… why did they publish the numbers in a way that makes them sound like they had to be true? It’s another case where the press is simply reprinting press releases, rather than looking critically at the news.
