3G Tower Wars Ahead?
Over the years there have been plenty of (mostly fruitless) battles to stop mobile operators from placing cell sites in certain places — often leading to the practice of disguising the masts to appear as trees, bell towers or church steeples. The latest prediction, though, is that various 3G systems are going to require even more cells, and that’s going to lead to even more resistance from people living near those cells (until, of course, they start complaining that their mobile phone service sucks).
