More On The Non-Existent Lexus Virus

from the well,-sure dept

Back in January, we were one of the first publications to pick up on a story about the potential of a virus hitting a car operating system, which we immediately debunked as being hype without substance. Some in the press, however, picked up on the story and made it into a bigger deal than it really was, leading to Vmyths coming along and confirm our original claim that this was pure hype. Jason Hills writes “VMyths has an article explaining that the Lexus automobile virus never existed and was purely the result of hype.” The article includes quotes from both Lexus and a number of anti-virus researchers pointing out that no such virus exists.
