Microsoft Tries, Tries Again In Mobiles

Despite repeated valiant efforts over the years, it appears that Microsoft still isn’t getting much traction in the mobile space, so they’re trying to make it even easier for anyone to offer MS-powered mobile devices with their new “Peabody” platform, developed in partnership with Flextronics. Basically, they’re trying to remove every reason why Microsoft-enabled mobile phones aren’t offered. Still, they have a ways to go before they can remove the biggest obstacle of all: the fact that everyone in the mobile industry is scared that Microsoft will become as dominant there as they are in the PC space. Derek adds: This is just attaching a name, Peabody, to the MSFT strategy we already knew.
