India Opens Up WiFi Spectrum For Mobile Use

It appears that India’s 2.4 GHz spectrum was actually only limited to indoor, non-mobile usage (anyone have details?). However, the government has now opened up the spectrum for outdoor and mobile usage. It’s not entirely clear what the full story is here, or if anyone was actually paying attention to the prohibitions before, but it’s still a good thing to get the spectrum open and the rules clarified. This is an ongoing issue with other technologies that try to make use of spectrum when there are different regulations surrounding different spectrum in different nations around the world.
