Screen Your Mobile Calls

Back in the days of answering machines, one popular “feature” was the ability to screen your calls, and decide if you really wanted to talk to the person on the other end. While caller ID still lets you do that to some extent, voicemail systems hide the actual message until it’s completely recorded… until now. A company named CallWave is getting set to offer a system that will let you listen in on voicemail as its being recorded, and to pick up the call mid-stream. It costs $4/month, which seems like an awful lot for a feature that you’re unlikely to use very often. Most of the time, caller ID is going to suffice, but apparently for the few of you who really want to be able to pick up a call mid-voicemail, there will soon be an expensive option for you.
