Streamcast Pushing Creative Commons

from the that's-a-step dept

Xueilonox writes “Streamcast is releasing a new version of Morpheus that promotes bands that release their music under a Creative Commons license.” While I’m still not convinced that Creative Commons is everything its supporters make it out to be, this sounds like an interesting move on the part of Streamcast — at least showing more ways that music can be used as a promotion, rather than the end product. Contrast this to Grokster’s attempt to let the music industry take away features from their file sharing system.
