Fair Use Is For Suckers, According To HBO

from the how-dare-you-want-to-watch-something dept

It looks like HBO is the latest in the entertainment world to decide that their own customers shouldn’t be able to make use of their own fair use rights. They’re now going to be blocking off your ability to copy programs. You’ll be able to make a single copy of HBO programs and no copies of any “On Demand” programming, even if you should be legally allowed to under fair use rules. While they think they’re somehow “protecting” their content, they’re actually making it a lot less valuable for many of their subscribers and potential subscribers.
