Missing Child Found Via Phone Messaging System

In the last few years, a lot of law enforcement agencies have been setting up useful local crime alert systems, to pass information to citizens as an event is happening. It’s especially popular for kidnapping or missing children cases. In South Korea, SK Telecom and the National Police Agency set up a system just a few months ago to help find missing children by sending out messages with a photo and a description of a newly missing child. About 100 days after the service launched, it’s helped to find its first missing child. The child had been missing since April, so it’s not entirely clear why the alert just went out this past Friday.
