A Google Ads Clone In SMS?

This seems a bit odd, but with some, like IceRocket, experimenting with mobile search, Global Explorations has developed SMS Adwords Technology — which is likely to get them a nasty legal letter from Google, who I’m sure has the trademark on “AdWords.” The system works by monitoring the content in the SMS message, and tacking on a relevant ad. There are plenty of reasons why this is unlikely to get very far — from the limited number of characters allowed, to the low likelihood of individuals clicking through on their phones. Still, I’m sure it won’t be long until at least someone is advertising free SMS… with ads included.
