Australian Government Gets Into The Online Divorce Business

from the so-they-say dept

We’ve noted that there are a growing number of online services to help you with your divorce (including one to set up a divorce registry after the ex-spouse takes everything you own), but these are all run by private organizations. The Australian government, however, is getting into the business themselves by offering the necessary forms online, which still need to be submitted by hard copy (though, it does suggest at some point people will be able to submit them electronically). As you might expect, this has some politicians up in arms, including one who calls the offering “bloody cuckoo.” He should calm down. It’s not like they’re allowing divorce by mobile phone or anything.
