More WiFi/Cellular Merged Devices

WiFi/Cellular combined packages are in this time of year, apparently. Following the greatly overhyped news that Motorola was coming out with such a dual wireless phone, HP and T-Mobile are announcing a PDA with dual WiFi/GSM connections. Again, they say it can “easily switch” between the two types of networks, and the article suggests Microsoft needed to make changes to their OS to allow for multiple IP connections, suggesting that maybe (just maybe) this device will actually be able to shift networks on the fly (not as big an issue for a data connection than a voice connection). There are still billing issues, but if done right, those can be minimized. Should be interesting to see if other carriers/device makers follow suit.
