Is WiMAX Preventing Wireless Broadband Investment?

Unstrung takes a look at some of the claims that carriers and WISPs are sitting around doing nothing at all while waiting for WiMAX to come out (for real, this time) and that’s dragging down the wireless broadband equipment industry. While Wi-LAN has made that claim (why do you think they’re so interested in patents these days?), it doesn’t seem to be the case for many others who say that demand for equipment is as strong (if not stronger) than ever. Of course, that might just be because they’ve confused the hell out of the market, and everyone thinks they’re buying WiMAX equipment already.
