Nokia Cuts Target Number Of N-Gage Games

While on the one hand, we’ve slightly mocked Nokia’s strained efforts to enter the mobile gaming space with the N-Gage, we also have been sure to applaud them for their drive to expand their business in this strategically important direction. Nokia appears to be stoic in their approach, revving the product in the QD version with key improvements on their original version (notably cost). Now, the latest news is another setback, as Nokia cuts the target number of games that will be available for the N-Gage devices. Usually this kind of news indicates that developers are less interested in the platform than the game-maker had hoped. Developers are generally less interested in a platform for the simple reason that not enough customers use it. We’d like to see Nokia be successful in this space in order to offer some hotter competition to the incumbent.
