Wayport Wins McDonald's; Another Cometa Loss

Cometa is having even more trouble living up to their early hype. It was just announced that McDonald’s has decided to go with Wayport as the exclusive provider of WiFi in their restaurants instead of either Cometa or Toshiba (who were both involved in some of the tests). This isn’t a huge surprise, as Wayport is certainly the most “proven” of the providers out there, and has a pretty good reputation. When Cometa first launched, they promised 15,000 hotspots by 2005, and having McDonald’s certainly would have helped.
