GPS Bus Tracking

Up in Maine, they’re excited about the idea of putting GPS on buses and putting a monitor at bus stations so waiting passengers can figure out where the next bus is. Of course, this isn’t all that new – already many places have services like NextBus that let’s the view when the next bus is coming via a web browser or by mobile phone. While I realize that not everyone has a mobile phone, the mobile phone solution seems much more useful. Keeping a video screen working at a bus station (and keeping it from getting stolen) seems like an expensive task.
