North American Phone Users Still Prefer Practical
This should come as no surprise at all to most people, but mobile phone users in the US and Canada tend to favor practical reasons for owning a mobile phone rather than entertainment/gaming. They want to use their mobile phones to check their email or find a good restaurant – not to play a game. That makes sense, as people are just figuring out that mobile phones can be more than just phones – and the practical ideas are definitely worth paying attention to first. That doesn’t mean mobile gaming won’t catch on, just that it’s really not on most radar screens yet.
