Why Is Infinium Suing A Gaming Site?
from the makes-no-sense... dept
Infinium Labs, the company behind the highly questioned Phantom Gaming device, received a burst of much needed credibility last month when they hired a recognized industry vet to be their CEO. Prior to that, the company was hounded by accusations that it was all a big scam. There had been a lot of speculation that the whole thing was a hoax, which went into overdrive last September when news site HardOCP posted a story looking into the possibly shady background of the original CEO of the company. With the hiring of the new CEO and a supposed demonstration at CES, it appeared that they had gone a long way towards rebuilding some basic credibility. So, it’s very, very strange to hear that the new CEO has decided to sue HardOCP for that article back in September, claiming that it’s defamatory. HardOCP has responded, saying they’re willing to make any changes to any point that can be shown to be false. Still, you have to wonder why they would bother suddenly sending out the legal attack dogs now?

business strategy
Their business strategy may be to find as many people as possible to sue and hope that at least one suit is successful. Sounds like that’s what SCO is planning to do.
