Pre-Emptive VoIP Legislation To Keep It Unregulated
from the who-needs-the-FCC? dept
While the FCC is going through their process of determining just what should be done about VoIP, over in Congress someone realized that they could take charge and pass a law. Senator Sununu has been convinced of the benefits of keeping VoIP unregulated and is planning to introduce legislation saying so. He admits that it’s a pre-emptive move, but an important one in keeping VoIP moving forward, without getting it bogged down by random states, trying to pretend it’s like a regular phone system so they can keep taxing it.
