Pre-Emptive VoIP Legislation To Keep It Unregulated

While the FCC is going through their process of determining just what should be done about VoIP, over in Congress someone realized that they could take charge and pass a law. Senator Sununu has been convinced of the benefits of keeping VoIP unregulated and is planning to introduce legislation saying so. He admits that it’s a pre-emptive move, but an important one in keeping VoIP moving forward, without getting it bogged down by random states, trying to pretend it’s like a regular phone system so they can keep taxing it.
