T-Online Buying AOL?

from the seems-unlikely dept

The Register is reporting that T-Online, the ISP part of Deutsche Telekom, is talking to Time Warner about buying AOL, though they also get a T-Online person to deny the rumor. Time Warner has repeatedly said that they have no plans to sell AOL, but there certainly are executives there who would love to see it go. Of course, a more likely discussion would be more informal discussions to see if T-Online would want to buy AOL’s German (or European) operations, and not the whole thing. However, the article doesn’t suggest that at all, and seems to indicate they’re looking at the whole thing.
