The Different Ecommerce Habits Of Men And Women

from the no-surprise-here dept

A pair of unrelated studies suggest that online shopping habits of men and women really don’t sound all that different from the offline shopping habits of men and women. The first study found that men are more likely to go online for larger purchases. The article suggests that men are bigger online shoppers than women, but the details show they’re really talking about more expensive items. Meanwhile, the article about the other study suggests that it’s actually young women who are doing the online shopping. However, again, when you look at the details, they’re really talking about who’s shopping at cosmetics sites, jewelry sites, and clothing sites, to which I think most people would respond with a big “well, duh!” Basically, the two studies show that most people seem to shop the same way offline as they do online.
