Video Game Cover Jinx?

from the watch-your-sponsorships dept

I’ve heard of the Sports Illustrated jinx, where athletes appearing on the cover of the magazine suddenly start performing poorly. Now, however, some folks have noticed a new jinx for athletes to worry about: appearing on the cover of video games. CNN looks at the past four seasons of EA’s Madden Football, and sees how the player appearing on the cover has performed much worse the year they’re cover-athletes than the year before. Maybe they’re just staying up too late playing the video game instead of practicing.
