SMS – Landline Interconnect: Vodafone
Vodafone Sweden is launching a service that will allow mobile customers to send an SMS message to a landline phone. SMS messages, which are short text notes, will be read to the landline recipient upon answering the ringing phone. If the recipient isn’t home, the system will repeat the call hourly for 8 hours. Personally, I’d like to see the ability to create and receive text messages built into wired phones with LCD screens, but this solution seems to be a step in a good direction.

excellent!
Sounds brilliant! Would prefer a full-size keyboard on a landline phone – then would be better than these thumb-boards.
Just think about this: it would actually be a way for non-email users to never have to get dirty with SPAM email.
Also would then upgrade to MMS-capability, and thus effectively full email capability.
Just brilliant! Should have patented it myself. 🙂
