A CDMA World Phone?

While CDMA is popular in the US, if you wanted a truly “world phone”, you were always talking about a GSM-based phone. Now, however, the FCC has apparently approved the first CDMA/GSM for the US, the Samsung SCH-A790, that works on US-based CDMA networks and GSM networks outside the US (it apparently doesn’t work on US-based GSM). No surprise, it’s going to be offered by Verizon Wireless, who offers CDMA in the US and is partially owned by Vodafone, who offers GSM service around the world. I imagine they’ll be promoting this phone with some sort of “world plan” as well.
