The Wireless Concept Car
On display in Toronto is a new concept car that adds quite a bit of wireless networking to the package. It has a built in WiFi access point, that uses a 1xRTT cellular network for the backhaul. This way, anyone in the car (well, hopefully not the driver) can turn on their WiFi-enabled devices and surf away. The car also has GPS and wireless video cameras (though, how those are used isn’t fully explained). Anyway, not that I’m saying I necessarily want to have just such a setup, but I am saying I might write up a review of it if the makers of the car happened to drive one over here (or, even better, decided to retrofit my car just to show me how it worked)…
