Lower Power WiFi Chips
Just as we were starting to see stories about the end of 802.11b, now that 802.11g technology is showing up everywhere, Broadcom and Philips are announcing a new low power (b) chip that could make a huge difference in adding WiFi to all sorts of devices – since it will no longer be the huge power drain it is today. Besides just being lower power, it appears the chip is smaller and cheaper to manufacture as well – all good things for embedding WiFi everywhere.
