Giving Mobile Phones To Schools

I have no clue what a “parent coordinator” is, but the ones in New York City Schools are being given mobile phones through which they can communicate (coordinate?) with parents of kids. The idea is to make it easier for parents to stay involved with their children’s education. Since the parent coordinator isn’t at their desk all day (where are they?), they need to have mobile phones, apparently.
