Video Games Opening For Rock Bands
from the whatever-brings-'em-in dept
Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are all trying to build up the credibility of their gaming systems with the youth market, and one of the ways is to set up game-playing kiosks at popular concerts as the bands travel around the country. Of course, the problem, then, is that many of the people going to these shows are completely ignoring the opening bands. Part of the promotional aspect of this seems to work two ways, since bands are increasingly putting their music into gaming soundtracks – which is getting them some of their original attention.
