Toronto Rocks With Wireless

Okay, so this link isn’t to so much of an article as just a little tiny blurb about folks preparing for a big rock concert in Toronto by getting things set up over the secure WiFi network they’ve set up. While we’ve mentioned it a few times, this is one area of the WiFi world that doesn’t get that much attention: the ability to “drop-in” a ready-made WLAN for single events. There’s still the issue of backhaul, but that’s not as important, if you just need to be able to communicate with each other. Of course, all of this might not matter if wireless connections get more coverage, but in the meantime, it’s yet another example of how WiFi is changing the way certain businesses can operate.
