Point-And-Connect Links For Wireless Devices
Maybe I’m a little confused, or maybe Sony researchers have never heard of infrared or Bluetooth, but it appears they’re working on yet another wireless technology for connecting devices. They’re not working on it in any association or working group or what have you. They’re just building some technology themselves, called Gaze-Link, that will let you easily connect your devices via a wireless connection. Knowing Sony’s history, if this works, they’ll just start offering it on all their products, and hope it becomes the defacto standard.
