Telecom May Be Emerging From Doldrums
Whether to laugh or cry… Research firm iSuppli Corp. has produced a report predicting the worst is over for the battered telecom industry. A mild uptick is expected as the result of Broadband investment, and Metro network buildouts. They forecast the industry spend for 2003 and the next few years as: US$50B, $53B, $60B, $68B, and $72B by 2007. So why cry? The industry spend was $100B in 2000, and 500,000 people have lost their jobs worldwide since then.
