Bangalore Finishing School Refines Indian Techies
from the outsourcing-manners dept
With the ongoing debate about outsourcing techie jobs to India, it appears some people realized that there might be some cross-cultural problems. After one Indian entrepreneur lost a deal following a meeting where one of his engineers kept burping at the table, he realized he needed to do something. He has now set up a group of “finishing schools” for Indian techies to help them better deal with business people and techies they may come across from other countries. Of course, finishing schools for techies are nothing new, as there have been similar efforts in the US as well.

If India’s political patterns take hold, their IT industry will eventually be required to hire quotas of lower-caste workers, the kind for whom teaching manners is an “assault” on their culture. Wait till we have rooms full of lower-caste Hindus with their bad breath, body odors, ferocious manners….

I realise that more and more mushroom of Finishing Schools are up in Bangalore. My company Edge Academy will be moving to Dubai shortly. Which according to you is the best place for a Finishing School to be on the map and why?
Thanks and Regards,
