Canada?s Microcell to Offer Hiptop

Danger is very slowly signing up new carriers to offer their Hiptop device. The latest is Canadian carrier Microcell. For the most part, it appears that Danger is having a lot of trouble finding multiple carriers in the same market who are willing to sign up and offer the device, and its corresponding service. No word yet on whether Microcell will be as ridiculously controlling as T-Mobile is when it comes to what you can do with the device. Danger (and T-Mobile) are missing out on a huge opportunity by locking down the device. As other innovative solutions come to market with open platforms, the Danger device is going to become quickly obsolete it isn’t opened up.
