It's Raining ID-Theft Bills

from the get-'em-while-they're-hot dept

No one denies that ID-theft is a rapidly growing problem that often doesn’t receive enough attention. It’s a crime that is getting increasingly easy to commit, and it often involves the victim being treated like a criminal. So, it’s no surprise to hear that Congress has introduced a ton of bills to try to take on identity theft. Of course, as with many legislative solutions, it doesn’t look like any of these will have much of an impact. They all seem somewhat watered down, without any real teeth to actually stop identity theft from occurring. Of course, that raises the question of just how do you stop identity theft? I’m not sure I’ve seen a good answer to that one yet.
