Momo The Dog Gets GPS Tracking

Secom Co. Ltd., Japan’s largest home and office security firm, has produced a GPS tracking device for pets. The attached link shows Momo the dog sporting the device. Although a decent idea, this is hardly revolutionary, and Great Scott! is that the most compact design they could prototype? It’s a good thing dogs have no sense of style. Furthermore, has anyone taken the time to consider the privacy rights of Momo?

GPS for Fido

I would say that you are right, hardly revolutionary. We here at VisionWorks are in the BETA test right now for the same type device. It is a small box that attaches to a regular dog collar, or has a built in collar that can alert the owner if the collar is cut or tampered with. It uses GPS and digital cellular to assist.
PET TRAC will be available to the USA market soon. This will be interesting to watch.
