Europe Exports E-flirting To US

Online dating is one of the few really big success stories online, as a fairly large percentage of non-e-commerce consumer dollars spent online go towards dating sites. Now, a European company is planning to start offering a wireless dating service that will try to connect you to potential significant others who happen to be near by. I guess this lets subscribers skip the awkward “email-until-we-figure-out-if-you’re-worth-meeting” stage of online dating, and lets potential matches walk around the corner to see each other in the flesh as quickly as possible. The article about this seems a bit skeptical, but the draw of online dating seems so strong for so many people that I wouldn’t be surprised to see this (or something like it) catch on.
