Virgin Backs LNP…Duh
In what can only be called a massive non-shocker, Virgin Mobile backs government pressure to expedite Local Number Portability. Virgin, as a new entrant in the US mobile market, has probably built its systems to handle LNP from the get go, so costs are low. As for benefits, they are a small new player in a market that is over 50% penetrated. They only stand to gain if subscribers are more free to churn their carrier.
