The Rise Of The Virtual Assistant

from the free-agent-nation-at-work dept

While we were just talking about how many of the “freelance” job boards were having trouble surviving, it sounds like plenty of people are really building careers out of being freelance employees. It’s becoming even easier thanks to new technologies. This article highlights the trend of administrative assistants to set themselves up as virtual assistants, working out of their homes part-time for multiple small business clients. They help do things like writing letters and creating presentations. While the article doesn’t talk about it, with some of the new phone systems coming out, it shouldn’t be too difficult to let them answer calls and transfer them as well.
