Virtually Restoring Iraq's Lost Treasures
from the not-quite-the-same... dept
Following the looting of various art treasures in Iraq, some researchers have decided to try to create a virtual museum of many of the Middle East’s historical treasures. They’re pitching this (as they try to raise money) as a way of “virtually restoring” these lost treasures. That might be a bit of an exaggeration. Having a web page with photos and information isn’t quite the same as having the actual artifacts, but it’s still not a bad idea.

Uh, yeah. The looting.
The more we learn about that looting, the smaller a deal it seems.
