Blame The Video Games – Part II

from the since-it-was-so-popular... dept

Since yesterday’s story on whether or not we should blame video games for crimes committed by children was such a popular story, we have a followup one today. A 14-year-old kid tried to steal all the money from his parents’ bank account in order to support his video-game playing habit. He installed a keylogger program to get the passwords to their online bank account, and then tried to withdraw $10,000. The bank, noticing the odd transaction, called the account holders to check. So, according to some folks commenting on yesterday’s post, we should blame the video games for being such a bad influence on the boy. I think that this is ridiculous. The boy, himself, is responsible for any criminal acts that occur.
